The Case For Confidence
I'm not really a big Kanye West fan. A lot of his antics leave a bad taste in my mouth, however I do love and admire his unwavering belief and confidence in himself. He sets his sights really high and does not let anyone tell him that he won't achieve his goals. The confidence that Kanye displays is most times taught at home. Unfortunately, there are many people myself included, that were not taught to have confidence in themselves. They struggle for many years fighting depression and having feelings of unworthiness because they lack this valuable trait. There is hope. We can fight to gain our confidence and let the world see us shine. I have said this many times before, that I believe confidence can actually take you further than talent can. You see it among some many celebs. Mainly, the ones that people say are famous for being famous. If you watch their interviews they still display unwavering confidence. They will admit that they don't have a discernible talent, but that they play to the strengths that they do have. Interestingly enough, I was asked how can a person develop confidence. In my opinion, there are quite a few ways to raise or develop your level of confidence.
1. One way to increase your level of confidence is by cultivating and strengthening the things that you do well. It's a major confidence booster when you are considered an expert or go-to person in your line of work. A lot of different opportunities can arise when you are the go-to person.
2. A second way to boost your confidence is to eliminate the need be perfect. It's okay to strive to achieve great things and to put effort into things that you are passionate about. It's not okay to put yourself down when things don't go as planned or if you miss a mark. Everything comes around again and nothing is final when you are a conscious creator.
3. Lastly, you can raise your level of confidence by celebrating 'small' successes. Celebrating the small things works two-fold ; you raise your vibrations because appreciation and gratitude are very high vibrations and your subconscious records of all of your successes. You will begin to attract more successful situations which will increase your confidence.
Let me know... do you think confidence is a valuable trait?
